Tim has worn many hats during his career as a "Plant Specialist:"
- He and his wife, Susan, own and operate Lewis Farms Nursery
- Tim is a Georgia Green Industry Association Certified Plant Professional
- He is a gardening writer (his articles currently appear in six local newspapers each week)
- Tim is the former horticulture instructor at Perry (GA) High School
- Tim was the former horticulturist for both Henderson Village and the Houston Springs community
- Susan is employed at Robins Air Force Base and helps Tim when she can
- Nick Wood, a junior at Perry (GA) High School, works part-time at the Nursery after school and on Saturdays and during the summer months
